What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy, often known as homoeopathic medicine, is a medical practice that dates back more than 200 years and was developed in Germany. The idea that an illness can be healed by a drug that causes similar symptoms in healthy persons is known as "like cures like" and the "law of minimum dose" states that the lower the medication's dose, the more effective.

Homeopathy is a medical approach founded on the idea that the human body has the ability to heal itself. Tiny amounts of natural substances, such as plants and minerals, are used by those who practise it. They consider that these help to speed up the healing process.

Who are Homeopaths?

Homeopaths are homoeopathic health practitioners. For treatment, a homoeopath utilises pills or liquid combinations (solutions) containing only a little amount of an active component (typically a plant or mineral).

What are the qualifications of a Homeopath?

Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a medical undergraduate degree programme. The medical knowledge of the homoeopathic system is included in this degree. After completing this degree the candidate will be qualified to practise homoeopathy as a doctor.

What diseases does a homoeopathic doctor treat?

Allergies, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, premenstrual syndrome, asthma, ear infections, hay fever, mental health conditions, such as depression, stress and anxiety, dermatitis, arthritis, high blood pressure etc are some of the common conditions that are treated by homeopathic practitioners.

What is the purpose of homeopathy?

Homeopathy has been used to maintain health and treat a variety of long-term ailments, including allergies, atopic dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and irritable bowel syndrome, among others. It's also been used to treat minor injuries like cuts and scratches, as well as muscle strains and sprains. For conditions such as cancer, heart disease, serious infections, or emergency, homoeopathic treatment is not recommended. In India, England, and other European countries, homoeopathy is widely used.

Homeopathy - FAQ

  1. Is homeopathy safe?
Yes, it is safe because of the unique technique of making homoeopathic medications.
  2. Do homeopathic medicines have side effects?
Side effects are rare in homoeopathy.
  3. In practice, how do homoeopathic doctors work?
Like all other doctors, modern homoeopathic practitioners make a conventional diagnosis. Finding the right homoeopathic remedy requires a thorough understanding of the patient as a whole.
  4. How long does it take for homoeopathic medicines to work?
Homeopathic remedies usually operate quickly in acute conditions like acute inflammation. Homeopathic medications start acting right away in chronic disorders, although complete healing can take a long period.
  5. Is it true that homoeopathy only works if you have a deep belief in its ability to heal?
No, while trust is crucial in any doctor-patient relationship, and all treatment, whether conventional or homoeopathic.
